Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SpecSheet website and service at specsheet.co (the "Service"), operated by SpecSheet ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Account Registration

You may use limited features without an account. To access additional features, you must register with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. AI-Generated Content — Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI gpt-4o-mini) to structure and organize product specifications.

• AI-generated output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all content before use.
• Spec sheets generated by the Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute official compliance, safety, regulatory, or certification documentation.
• Generated spec sheets should not be used as substitutes for Safety Data Sheets (SDS), nutrition labels, UL/CE certification documents, or any other officially regulated documentation.
• We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

5. Intellectual Property

a. Your Content

You retain ownership of the raw specifications, images, and other content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service (including sending it to OpenAI for AI processing).

b. Generated Output

You own the generated spec sheet PDFs and may use them for any lawful purpose. We claim no ownership over your generated output.

c. Our Service

The Service, including its design, templates, code, and branding, is owned by SpecSheet and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our templates or Service components.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

a. Free Tier

The free tier allows limited spec sheet generations per day at no cost. We may change free tier limits at any time.

b. Pro Subscription

Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

c. Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription price at each renewal.

d. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal (accessible via the "Manage" link in the header) or by contacting us at contact@specsheet.co. Upon cancellation, you will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

e. Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel, you retain access until the end of your paid period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at contact@specsheet.co within 14 days for review.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPECSHEET AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, INCLUDING ERRORS IN SPECIFICATIONS, MISSING DATA, OR INACCURATE FORMATTING.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SpecSheet from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account by contacting us at contact@specsheet.co.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
